Testimonial: Bhasul Vazhoor - MSc RAM 2007-2008

Published on June 4, 2008

I graduated from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering. I worked in Singapore for three years before making the decision to come to EDHEC.

Bhasul VAZHOOR

I was looking for a course in quantitative finance and Asset Management and the Risk and Asset Management course offered by EDHEC was perfectly aligned to what I wanted to do, making EDHEC my first choice destination for the master's programme.

Looking back to the beginning of the academic year, I had set myself several goals. The goals were both academic and personal. I wanted to develop my preferred area of specialisation in quantitative finance and I wanted to get clearer in-sights into the cutting edge academic research in the fields of asset management. I wanted the course to provide me the necessary skills and support needed to obtain my CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) certification and I also wanted to learn in a multi-cultural environment and experience Europe, while giving myself an opportunity to learn French. I am happy to say that EDHEC has set me well on-course to complete my goals.

I am impressed with the quality of the professors and the high standard of competition within the class. I am also delighted by EDHEC's ability to get high-quality visiting professors to teach key courses. The thing that impresses me most is their flexibility in constantly being open to student feedback and change.

Life in Nice was another major advantage to pursuing my Masters degree here and it definitely hasn't disappointed! It is ideally located to travel around Europe with a well connected International airport and to say that the weather is nice would be a massive understatement. I have spent many a weekend taking short trips to explore the beauty of southern France and Italy and the highly international nature of my class meant that I really didn't have a language problem.

I am looking forward to the rest of my course and on the evidence thus far I am sure it would propel me to a wonderful career while providing me with memories to cherish.
