Testimonial Alzbeta Zlabova: MSc Marketing, class of 2006

Published on June 18, 2008

Alzbeta ZlabovaTwo years ago, I studied at EDHEC Business School as an Erasmus exchange student. This proved such a rewarding experience that I decided to apply as a full-time student in the MSc in Marketing Management programme the following year.

Before I applied for the EDHEC's MSc in Marketing Management programme I had already started a Master's programme in Business Administration and Management in the University of Economics in Prague in my home country the Czech Republic.

I decided to interrupt my studies in the Czech Republic to study the MSc in Marketing Management at EDHEC for several reasons:
Firstly, because the courses in EDHEC's programme were more specialized in Marketing than the ones I was doing in the Czech Republic. Secondly, because I was lucky enough to have been awarded EDHEC's Scholarship for a Reunited Europe, directed at citizens of the new Europe.  Most importantly, I decided to do an MSc at EDHEC because I believed that a degree from a well-known European business school would give me the best chances for an international career in high level marketing positions.

I was very happy about my decision. The courses at EDHEC were demanding and particularly industry-related. I found the fact that we often worked on practical cases very positive as this is something new for me; in my country courses are more theoretically oriented and I was glad to be able to put theory into practice. Moreover I was happy to be part of a class of students that were very communicative, who came from different countries and who had different cultures. It is something that gave me the opportunity to learn things not only in the campus but also outside when I met my friends and had fun in Nice. I must admit that understanding other peoples' cultures and behaviors can sometimes be difficult but I always tried to be open-minded and the outcome was very rewarding.

After my graduation I would like to work in the Marketing Department of an international company, preferably in the field of Arts and Entertainment. I already have some experience in this field as I worked for the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (one of the most important film festivals in Central and Eastern Europe) as Production and Office Assistant. Marketing is a highly competitive field but I hope that I will find the best path for my professional career.

Thanks to my hard work and the knowledge I acquired in the MSc in Marketing Management programme at EDHEC, I hope to make my dreams come true.
