Two years after receiving my Bachelor's degree in Advertising and working for the leading ad agency in Palestine, I initiated the search for a very specialised Master's programme in Marketing.
Having graduated from the US, I opted for Europe in order to amplify my multinational profile both academically and professionally. EDHEC in France came out as the best alternative.
At EDHEC, I knew I would receive a highly-accredited and specialized degree in marketing management. My classes would all be in English while having the opportunity to learn a new language - French.
Now, that I am at EDHEC, I have found a programme that combines theory with practice in a global context. In a class of about 30 students we have over 20 nationalities. I like to call it a Mini United Nations. Our professors are all top-notch in their fields. The programme is very well structured with 9 months of coursework and 3-6 months for completing a practical internship. A compulsory thesis allows us to develop further specialist knowledge of a particular field through our research and the work on this thesis can begin from January of the year of study. The coursework brings to us a curriculum of the most significant issues and topics that a leader in marketing needs to know and master for today's workplace. Most classes require team work on certain marketing challenges. I have been able to develop my team playing skills and observe that when the bottom line is performance, teams are the means to effective use of multiple skills, abilities, and experiences. The result is expanded knowledge, shared accountability, and increased creativity.
In addition, EDHEC provides excellent career services to students. They help you enter into the workplace through career counseling, improving the way you market yourself to companies, and most importantly organizing career fairs with plenty of internship and job offerings. I have attended one of these fairs recently in Paris and I was able to build contacts with leaders in the advertising industry here in France and internationally.
I firmly believe that with the Master's degree from EDHEC Business School, I will be able to better position myself in the field as well as accomplish my career goals in a considerably short period of time.
